
Founding High School MLL Specialist (2026-2027)

- Collaborate with teachers to help students master content and language objectives
- Advise teachers on accommodating curriculum for MLL students
- Collaborate with teachers to modify curriculum when necessary
- Provide coaching to teachers around best practices for working with multilingual learners.
- Provide inclusion support for classes containing MLL students
- Work specifically with MLL students during assigned periods of the day
- Create a safe learning environment for all students by implementing Excel’s strategies and best practices with consistency;
- Collaborate with department members on curriculum refinement and implementation;
- Design and implement rigorous assessments that evaluate student mastery of academic standards;
- Serve as a productive member of the Excel Academy community; and
- Do whatever it takes to ensure the mission of the school is upheld

- A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred;

- A minimum of two years’ teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred, but not required.
