Job Description:
This position provides business and technical support to callers and in-office customers while performing other job duties.
Work Schedule: 8-5 Monday through Friday with an option for a flex schedule after training.

Job Duties: Under limited supervision, after meeting the training criteria, this position will function as a customer service representative, signing into a phone system and managing a large number of inbound and outbound calls on a daily basis. You will be a technical expert for all areas under the jurisdiction of the Driver and Vehicle Records Division. You will provide business and technical support to county offices, the public, other in-state and out-of-state government agencies, law enforcement, and insurance companies to resolve issues and provide guidance. This position will assist with processing disabled parking permits, specialty license plate applications, bonded titles, and various other job duties. You will also have an opportunity to assist customers in person, rotating to our front counter. Other duties as assigned and within the scope of the classification.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
Preferred Qualifications: At least one year of post-high school coursework or experience in: working with the public, working on a team, customer service on a help desk. Experience working on a team and providing customer service in a help desk environment is desired.
Other: Some positions may require experience and/or training that is unique to the work assigned; a valid driver's license the ability to provide independent authorized transportation; and/or criminal history background checks and other specific background check protocols for their agency. Regular and reliable attendance required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of: Departmental software programs/systems, technical processes and procedures, business processes, policies and procedures, agency rules and regulations, and state statutes is helpful but not necessary.
Ability to: communicate to and exchange information with others; interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations; retrieve information from a variety of sources; advise and interpret how to apply polices, procedures, and stands to specific situations; use functional reasoning and apply rational judgment in performing diversified work activities; work in a team environment with a cheerful, positive attitude; stay focused on daily work in a busy environment.
Skills in: active listening; asking questions; communicating information/instructions, both orally and in writing, to be easily understood by others; prioritizing and organizing work; problem identification and resolution.
