As an Application Engineer with The Modal Shop, you will work on our rental and services team providing technical sales support to customers looking to rent The Modal Shop, Larson Davis and PCB Piezotronics products. The Rental Team at The Modal Shop provides customers with access to a broad portfolio of sound and vibration test and measurement equipment, along with the technical expertise needed to support successful testing. The team works closely with customers to understand application requirements, recommend appropriate rental solutions, and deliver responsive support throughout the rental process. An Application Engineer on the rental team supports customers by understanding their application needs, recommending the appropriate products and solutions, and providing technical guidance to ensure successful use of The Modal Shop’s rental equipment.
Additional Duties:
- Provides general sales support and phone coverage for customers.
- Receives training in basic piezoelectric and sensor theory to support The Modal Shop, Larson Davis and PCB Piezotronics product lines.
- Provides quotations for products and services in accordance with pricing and delivery policy.
- Assists Application Engineers and Product Managers with follow up on consignment orders and logged quotes.
- Responds to telephone calls or correspondence from customers and representatives for new contracts or repairs:
- Assists customers technically and seeks technical assistance when needed to best serve the customer.
- Assists in the expediting of orders and repairs.
- Generates RMA forms, documents information from customers.
- Performs follow up on sales activity.
- Acts as a liaison between the customer and Product Managers by communicating customer feedback and customer input required for market research.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Two-year technical degree or equivalent specialized training.
- Experience: 6 months to 2 years’ related experience.
- Travel Requirement: As needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sound and Vibration industry knowledge and experience a plus.
