Job Description

 Used Equipment Analyst

Parallel Ag proudly carries AGCO farm equipment plus a full line of parts to support farming operations of all sizes. With well-known brands such as Fendt, Massey Ferguson, Manitou, Gleaner, and more, customers rely on Parallel Ag to get the job done. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Used Equipment Analyst to support the evaluation, management, and movement of used equipment inventory across our dealership network.

The Used Equipment Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring accurate equipment valuations, supporting sales teams in deal structuring, and optimizing inventory turnover. This position collaborates closely with sales, service, parts, and leadership to maximize equipment value and market competitiveness.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The responsibilities and duties of the Used Equipment Analyst will include the following:


Essential Functions

Trade Evaluations & Appraisals

Evaluate incoming equipment trades across multiple dealership locations

Conduct accurate trade appraisals based on equipment condition, market data, and comparable sales

Assist sales professionals and general managers in structuring deals involving equipment trades

Provide guidance to sales teams on equipment descriptions, condition assessments, and valuation accuracy

Support negotiations by ensuring accurate and consistent trade values

Reconditioning & Equipment Preparation

Collaborate with Parts and Service departments to establish appropriate reconditioning budgets

Coordinate with Service teams to determine necessary repairs prior to resale

Evaluate cost-benefit of reconditioning investments relative to expected resale value

Market Analysis & Equipment Valuation

Monitor market trends, auction results, and competitive dealer pricing

Maintain current and accurate equipment valuations based on market conditions

Work with industry contacts and competitive dealers to benchmark trade values

Stay informed on shifts in demand, pricing, and inventory trends

Inventory Management & Equipment Movement

Partner with the Director of Used Equipment to develop strategies for equipment movement, including:

Retail resale

Wholesale disposition 

Auction placement

Assist in determining which units should be sold quickly versus held for higher-margin opportunities

Wholesale Equipment Coordination

Work with wholesale networks to obtain bids on used equipment

Coordinate listings and offers through platforms such as Iron Connect

Facilitate dealer-to-dealer wholesale transactions

Equipment Marketing & Listings

Assist with photographing equipment for marketing purposes

Create and post equipment listings across platforms (e.g., Facebook Marketplace and others)

Ensure listings include accurate descriptions, specifications, and condition details

Auction Coordination

Assist in preparing equipment for auction

Coordinate with auction companies on timing, placement, and listing accuracy

Reconcile auction documentation and sales records

Ensure accurate communication of equipment details to auction partners

Cross Department Coordination

Serve as a central point of coordination between:

Sales teams

Parts department

Service department

General managers

Used equipment leadership

Provide guidance on trade values, equipment condition, and resale strategies

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of agricultural equipment and/or heavy equipment markets
  • Experience in equipment appraisal, sales support, inventory management, or related field preferred
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret market data and pricing trends
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple equipment units and priorities
  • Ability to make sound financial and operational decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel strongly preferred) and general computer systems
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

 

Preferred

  • Agriculture or equipment industry experience (sales, service, parts, or operations)
  • Experience with equipment valuation, auctions, or wholesale markets
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and inventory management tools
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
