Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity 
 
We are seeking an Asphalt Loader Operator to join our team in Hamilton. In this role, you’ll be be part of a dedicated crew who provide operational support on our Asphalt maintenance jobs. You will be responsible for ensuring that asphalt plants, bitumen plants and loaders are presented, serviced, maintained and operated in a professional, safe and efficient manner that complies with all relevant legislation, regulation and policy and achieves agreed productivity and quality targets 
 
This is a full-time, permanent position that will require overtime or weekend shifts occasionally. 
 
Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills 
 
We'd value the following skills and experience; however full training will be provided for the right candidate: 
 
 

• Full Class 1 NZ Drivers Licence essential - with WTR endorsements an advantage 

• Experience or exposure to civil plant operations - Asphalt Plant, Bitumen Plant and Wheeled Loaders 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will work with an extensive range of Downer and contracting crew members 

• Commitment to a high standard of Health & Safety 

• Experienced and able to learn computer systems
