Ubiquiti Taipei office is looking for a Hardware Engineer who shares our passion for innovation and technology and desire to do something extraordinary. This position will enable you to participate in hardware design for Ethernet products, like Ethernet Switches and Gateway routers with worldwide impact. You will be in touch with our R&D labs from different countries around the globe. We expect you to bring your experience, enthusiasm, and creativity wherever you go and put them in the work you do. You should be able to think out of the box when finding solutions to new problems and make things work.
Responsibilities:
- Design and verify hardware circuits and conduct PCB layout reviews.
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), provide production support, and perform Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) failure analysis.
- Evaluate and recommend innovative technology solutions for implementation.
- Engage in all phases of the product lifecycle, encompassing New Product Introduction (NPI), Mass Production (MP), and End-of-Life (EOL).
- Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including PCB layout, component engineering, firmware development, mechanical engineering, electrical power engineering, thermal engineering, quality assurance, software development, project management, industrial design (ID), and compliance engineering.
Must-haves:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in system hardware design.
- Demonstrated expertise in 802.3 PoE PSE/PD, 1000Base-T/10GBase-T Ethernet PHY, Ethernet switches, and Ethernet routers.
- Comprehensive understanding of ESD, surge, safety, and relevant compliance regulations.
- Proficient in utilizing hardware EDA tools such as ORCAD Capture CIS, Cadence ORCAD Layout/Allegro, and Mentor PADS.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in the design of ruggedized, industrial-grade products intended for outdoor deployment.
- Familiar with RF fundamental mechanisms and their applications.
