Job Summary:

The Production Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities within the Conversion and Fabrication departments to maximize efficiency, material yield, and on-time delivery. This role ensures that all production schedules align with plant priorities, customer requirements, and available resources.

The Production Coordinator generates and maintains production batches, adjusts schedules as needed, and communicates revised delivery dates to Sales. They also monitor material flow and inventory levels to support on-time order fulfillment, performing system transactions to maintain accurate and timely production records.

This position works closely with the Weld Mill Planner and the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to ensure material availability, efficient production sequencing, and accurate shipment timing. The Production Coordinator also investigates process losses, identifies opportunities for improvement, and supports the continuous enhancement of scheduling accuracy and operational performance.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all scheduling, production planning, and material handling decisions consider employee safety and equipment limits.
  • Communicate potential safety concerns related to workflow, materials, or production timing to appropriate departments.
  • Support compliance with the PTC Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring production orders are scheduled and completed according to quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Monitor batch data for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all production records and system transactions are entered correctly.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to address non-conformances, process losses, or deviations from standards.
  • Plan, release, and manage production batches in the ERP system to meet delivery requirements and optimize resource utilization.
  • Re-promise batches as needed based on material availability, capacity constraints, or order changes, and communicate revised delivery dates to Sales.
  • Review and close batches promptly to maintain accurate production reporting and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with the Weld Mill Planner to coordinate material flow between upstream and downstream operations.
  • Work with the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to ensure on-time shipment of finished goods and timely receipt of incoming materials.
  • Monitor production schedules daily to balance workloads, minimize downtime, and maximize throughput and material yield.
  • Investigate process losses or yield issues and work with department leads to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Perform system transactions such as batch adjustments, material movements, and scrap reporting to maintain accurate ERP data in coordination with department lead.
  • Serve as a communication link between Production, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to ensure alignment on delivery priorities and schedule changes.
  • Participate in production meetings to review open orders, late items, and upcoming capacity concerns.
  • Track and report on scheduling KPIs, including on-time delivery, efficiency, and material yield performance.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement in scheduling accuracy, workflow efficiency, and inventory control.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Control Manager.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of all office equipment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel Power point outlook word)
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Good attitude and friendly demeanor
