Principales responsabilités et activités :

  • Produire des projections de valeur intrinsèque afin d’analyser la rentabilité des activités de RGA Canada et aider à la préparation des résultats pour la haute direction.
  • Produire des projections de capital économique et des scénarios de crise afin d’évaluer l’allocation globale du capital dans RGA Inc., en tenant compte des divers risques auxquels l’organisation fait face ainsi que la diversification de ces risques.
  • Participer à l’élaboration des hypothèses d’évaluation pour tous les secteurs d’activité sous les normes comptables LDTI et IFRS 17, ainsi qu’à leur documentation.
  • Produire les impacts des modifications des hypothèses d’évaluation pour LDTI et IFRS 17.
  • Aider à la préparation des rapports actuariels (rapport de l’actuaire désigné, rapport A4 et rapport ORSA).
  • Soutenir l’équipe de gestion des risques dans le suivi des limites de risque.
  • Participer à la vérification interne de la valeur intrinsèque des nouvelles affaires produites par le service de la tarification.
  • Aider avec des demandes supplémentaires et aider d’autres équipes au besoin.

Exigences :

  • Baccalauréat en sciences actuarielles ou en mathématiques.
  • Un minimum de deux ans d’expérience dans l’industrie de l’assurance.
  • Un minimum de cinq examens de la Société des actuaires.
  • Solides connaissances et intérêt pour l’informatique et les logiciels.
  • Une expérience dans l’industrie de la réassurance, un atout.
  • Connaissance du logiciel AXIS, un atout.

  • Le bilinguisme français/anglais (oral et écrit) est requis compte tenu de la nécessité de communiquer oralement et par écrit avec des intervenants principalement anglophones situés à l’extérieur du Québec.

Reporting to the AVP & Actuary, Capital & Corporate Modelling, the candidate assumes corporate duties in order to meet the departmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Produce embedded value projections in order to analyze the profitability of RGA Canada's business and assist in the preparation of results to the senior management.
  • Produce Principal-Based Economic Capital and other stress scenarios projections in order to evaluate the overall allocation of capital through RGA Inc. taking into account the various risks that the organization faces and the diversification of these risks.
  • Participate in the development of valuation assumptions for all line of business for LDTI and IFRS 17 and their documentation.
  • Produce valuation assumptions changes impact for LDTI and IFRS 17.
  • Assist in the preparation of the actuarial reports (Appointed Actuary Report, A4 report and ORSA report).
  • Support the Risk management team to monitor the Risk Limits.
  • Participate in the internal audit of new business embedded value produced by the Pricing department.
  • Assist with additional requests and other teams as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial or in mathematics.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • Minimum of five exams of the Society of Actuaries.
  • Strong knowledge and interest in computer science & software.
  • Experience in the reinsurance industry, an asset.
  • Knowledge of the AXIS software, an asset.

Abilities:

  • Experience working independently and in an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration is essential.
  • Ability to work within changing priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Solid technical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Sense of organization and attention to details.
  • Bilingual French/English (oral and written) is required given the need to communicate orally and in writing with predominantly English-speaking project stakeholders based outside of Québec.

Compensation Range:

$79,500.00 - $99,350.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
