Job Description
ASRC Federal provides engineering support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA’s Surface Surveillance Systems Support Team provides engineering support for Airport Surface Detection Equipment (ASDE-3 and ASDE-X), Runway Status Lights (RWSL) and Airport Surface Surveillance Capability (ASSC) systems. Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support services for resolving hardware/software issues on surface movement radar equipment at field sites
Support technology refresh of legacy system hardware and software
Provide root cause analysis on hardware failures
Assist with unit, regression and integration testing
Occasional travel to airports across the nation to provide engineering support
Requirements:
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years.
On-site presence will be as required by the FAA.

Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to organize, present and explain information
Excited to participate in a team environment but able to work well individually
Self-motivated to deliver quality products with limited direction and guidance
Understands the importance of collaboration with other team members
Ability to adapt to/learn how to use new systems and custom software
Ability to pass an FAA background investigation
Ability to travel 25% of the time depending on the needs of the business
Education/Experience:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required. The degree must be from a school of engineering accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum.
Knowledge of radar operations and RF is a plus
Software programming experience using object-oriented languages such as JAVA, C++, GO or C# is desirable
Working knowledge of test equipment such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, or other data acquisition equipment
Experience using software version control software such as GIT and issue tracking software such as JIRA
