POSITION SUMMARY: Under close supervision and instruction, perform routine and custodial duties in office, manufacturing and rest areas, maintaining promises in a clean and orderly condition. Operate commonly used types of power cleaning and polishing equipment.
 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Perform routine cleaning of offices, manufacturing and rest areas.
  2. Clean restroom and replenishes soap, paper and towels.
  3. Remove trash and consolidates recyclable paper.
  4. Assist in the movement and relocation of furniture as required.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Familiarity with all safety practices and procedures as used in custodial work.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one to other employees of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock.


The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
