Position Summary
The School Development and Innovation Supervisor provides visionary leadership and strategic support to enhance teaching, learning, and student achievement across elementary schools. This position is responsible for leading district-wide initiatives related to curriculum, instruction, assessment, innovation, professional learning, and continuous school improvement. The Supervisor collaborates with District Staff, teachers, support staff, families, and community partners to ensure equitable access to high-quality educational experiences that promote academic excellence and positive student outcomes.
The School Development and Innovation Supervisor supports the implementation of the district's strategic plan by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability. The position oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based instructional practices, high-quality instructional materials, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to ensure all students, including students with disabilities, English learners, and other diverse learners, have access to rigorous and engaging learning opportunities.
Key responsibilities include coordinating curriculum development and alignment, monitoring student achievement data, facilitating professional learning, supporting school improvement planning, promoting instructional innovation, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local educational requirements. The Supervisor works closely with instructional staff to strengthen instructional leadership, improve educational outcomes, and advance district goals.
Through collaborative leadership, strategic planning, and a commitment to educational excellence, the School Development and Innovation Supervisor plays a critical role in preparing students for future success while supporting the district's mission, vision, and core values.

Qualifications
Required:
• Valid Ohio Principal License
• Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of successful building-level administrative experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development, instructional best practices, and student assessment.
• Knowledge of Ohio's assessment systems and accountability requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred:
• Experience leading elementary and middle school level
• Experience with curriculum and instructional leadership.
• Experience with early childhood programming
• Experience with coordinating district assessments and utilization of data
• Experience facilitating professional development and instructional coaching
• Experience managing budgets and personnel.
Essential Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership
• Provide instructional leadership and support for all PreK-6 programs.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
• Support teachers in implementing evidence-based instructional strategies.
• Monitor student performance data and collaborate with staff to improve academic outcomes.
• Support the implementation of MTSS, intervention programs, and enrichment opportunities.
Early Childhood Oversight
• Coordinate and monitor all district preschool and early childhood programs.
• Ensure compliance with Ohio Department of Education and Workforce preschool requirements.
• Support staff with curriculum implementation, assessment, and instructional practices.
• Coordinate transitions between preschool and kindergarten programs.
• Promote family engagement within early childhood programming.
Curriculum Specialist Responsibilities
• Serve as the district Curriculum Specialist.
• Support curriculum alignment with Ohio Learning Standards.
• Assist with curriculum review, adoption, and implementation processes.
• Coordinate instructional resources and materials.
• Facilitate professional development related to curriculum and instructional improvement.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to strengthen instructional practices across grade levels.
Testing and Accountability Supervisor
• Coordinate all state and local assessments.
• Ensure testing compliance, security, and administration procedures are followed.
• Train staff on testing protocols and assessment requirements.
• Analyze assessment results and prepare reports for district leadership.
• Monitor accountability measures and support continuous improvement efforts.
Staff Support and Development
• Provide instructional coaching and support to teachers.
• Assist with mentoring new teachers and staff.
• Support professional learning communities and collaborative planning.
• Assist with teacher evaluations as assigned.
Family and Community Engagement
• Foster positive relationships with families and community partners.
• Communicate academic initiatives and assessment information to stakeholders.
• Participate in district and community events.
Operational Responsibilities
• Assist with student discipline and behavior support systems.
• Support building operations and daily functions as assigned.
• Coordinate district academic programs and special initiatives.
• Assist with grant implementation and reporting requirements.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Superintendent or Executive Director of Teaching and Learning.
