Teacher Resident (Texas State University students only)

NOTE: This position is only open to Texas State University students who have already been placed as Resident Teachers in Navarro ISD for the 2026-2027 school year. No other applicants will be considered.

Job Title: PREP Resident Teacher                                                     Annual Pay: $20,000

Reports to: Campus Principal and Assistant Superintendent           Employee status: At-will

of Human Resources and School Leadership

Primary Purpose: 

Residents engage in deep clinical practice under the supervision of a trained host teacher three days per week and serve as district substitute teachers one day per week.

Selection Criteria:

• Meet the criteria defined by the Texas Education Agency and Texas State University
• Demonstrate a genuine interest in Navarro ISD

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform all the required tasks and activities associated with the Texas State University Teacher Residency program.
• Serve as a district substitute teacher one day per week.
