Fixed-term (2 years) | Full-time | Salary according to TV-L E13 | Institute of Epidemiology and Social Medicine - Translational Epidemiology Unit

PROJECT:

The multinational, large-scale omics projects focus on identifying molecular biomarkers that predict the risk of brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze large-scale genome (GSA array), genome-wide methylome (EPIC array) and proteome (SomaScan, Olink) datasets from ~6,000 study participants
  • Apply advanced analytical methods for integrative multi-omics analyses
  • Implement state-of-the-art statistical and computational techniques for disease prediction
  • Leverage extensive, high-quality multi-omics data resources to drive innovative research

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in (bio-)statistics, epidemiology, mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Proven proficiency in R
  • Solid background in (bio-)statistical methods and analyses, including experience with Cox regression analyses
  • A high level of motivation and a drive for excellence
  • Strong analytical thinking, scientific writing, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication as well as fluency in English (spoken and written)
