We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team in Finland. This is an opportunity to contribute to the financial health of a global organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and integrity. As an Accountant at Gallagher, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting key business decisions through insightful analysis, and maintaining compliance with both local and group requirements. You will work closely with the CFO, centralised Finance teams, and external advisors to support the continued success of our business. How you'll make an impact In this role, you’ll take ownership of financial processes and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation. You’ll ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards while providing valuable insights to support commercial decision-making. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records in line with local GAAP and US GAAP. Managing month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Overseeing accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions. Preparing statutory financial statements and supporting local regulatory reporting requirements. Contributing to budgeting and forecasting activities, providing meaningful analysis to support business decisions. Supporting internal and external audits by preparing documentation and liaising with auditors and external advisors. Driving continuous improvement in financial processes, controls, and reporting practices. About you Here’s what you’ll bring to the role: Technical Skills & Experience A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. Experience in financial accounting, bookkeeping, and month-end close activities. A strong understanding of local GAAP; exposure to US GAAP and SOX is advantageous. Proficiency in financial systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Soft Skills Analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. A high level of integrity, accountability, and personal ownership. The ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong relationships across teams. A proactive and adaptable approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
