Description
Althea Park House is a 10 bedded specialist residential home for those aged 16+ with eating disoders and co-occuring conditions. This environment helps us to work creatively alongside our residents to seek a life outside of the confines of their eating disorder. Supported by a skilled team, you would be working closely alongside the residents to achieve excellent treatment outcomes. The support worker role is primarily concerned with supporting resident needs by following care and treatment outlined within the care plans and risk assessments. Much of the work involves being a supportive figure before, during and after meal times, to engage in activities in and out of the home, support residents to engage with occupation such as education or employment and to be a support to residents who are trying to move forward in their lives in very difficult circumstances.
What you'll be doing
- Ensure that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met; including personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living tasks. To support people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose.
- Complete daily administration including updating person centred support & care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes.
- Maintains professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders.
- Through own professional behaviour, including adhering to policies and procedures, contributes to the maintenance of safety, security and confidentiality standards.
- To undertake keyworking responsibility for individual service users, supporting the individual to plan goals and personal outcomes and ensure that these are comprehensively documented and reviewed. Innovation

What you'll bring to the role
The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 1 or GCSE standard in Mathematics and English and will have successfully completed the Care Certificate. They will demonstrate an understanding of the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality, alongside basic IT literacy skills. Candidates should also have a minimum of two years’ experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within a similar environment.
