Job Location: Attleboro, MA
The Equipment Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and improvement of manufacturing equipment and selected facility systems in support of safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role is expected to work independently in diagnosing equipment issues, responding to breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and completing repairs in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
This position requires a hands-on technician with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, solid maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to support both legacy and specialized production equipment. The Equipment Maintenance Technician II will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and EHS to improve equipment reliability, maintain safe operations, and support the overall performance of the Attleboro site.
What you will be doing:
- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and selected facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical equipment issues.
- Respond urgently and independently to equipment breakdowns and production-related maintenance needs.
- Execute preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules, procedures, and site priorities.
- Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and related documentation.
- Support the installation, setup, adjustment, relocation, and improvement of manufacturing equipment.
- Assist in maintaining equipment uptime, reliability, and safe operating condition across the site.
- Work closely with Process Engineering, Production, and Quality to resolve equipment-related issues affecting output, quality, or flow.
- Identify and communicate spare parts needs, replacement recommendations, and equipment risks before failures occur.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair history, and work documentation.
- Fabricate, modify, or assist in the creation of simple guards, fixtures, brackets, and related components as needed to support operations.
- Support outside contractors, equipment vendors, and service technicians during on-site work.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with site standards and safe work practices.
- Follow all company safety requirements, including lockout/tagout, PPE, machine guarding, and safe maintenance procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance, uptime, sustainability, and maintenance effectiveness.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned based on business and operational needs.
What you will bring along:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
- Experience with pneumatics and basic hydraulics.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Preventive maintenance experience on industrial or manufacturing equipment.
- Strong safety mindset, especially related to lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and safe maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated ability to support production urgently and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use standard hand tools, power tools, meters, and maintenance testing equipment.
- Good problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance logs, work orders, parts lookup, and communication.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with older legacy equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting ovens, CNC equipment, dicing/saw equipment, screen printers, or similar process equipment.
- Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments and documentation discipline.
- Basic PLC and electrical controls troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to fabricate or modify simple fixtures, guards, brackets, and components.
- Technical school, vocational training, or an associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, mechanical systems, mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems and/or CMMS platforms.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.

- Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, testing equipment, and maintenance devices.
Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to moving mechanical equipment, noise, heat-generating equipment, dust, chemicals, and other industrial conditions. The employee is required to wear appropriate PPE and comply with all site safety and environmental requirements.
