Principle Accountabilities
- Create network designs and build related services at Transmission / DWDM/ and IP MPLS Packet networks.
- Maintain records and databases of customer solutions, ensuring all required customer functionality is delivered and installed.
- Manage disconnects and capacity reallocation to optimize network utilization.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal design principles.
- Contribute to internal standards, processes, and technical guidelines.
- Support service activation and implementation with the different telecom technologies in use
Key Skills & Experience Requirements
- Operational experience of 5+ years as a network engineer, preferably within service provider networks.
- Operational experience with carrier-class routers and switches (experience with Juniper, Nokia, or Cisco required).
- Experience with BGP.
- Good knowledge of Layer-2 and Layer-3 protocols (IPv4/v6, BGP, ISIS, VPLS, IPVPN, MPLS, QinQ, ELINE).
- Experience in optical transmission systems, like Ciena 6500 is a big advantage
- Understanding of DWDM, ROADM, Flexgrid and photonic layer
- Juniper and/or Cisco/Nokia/Ciena certification is a big plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
