The Job:
Lead a team of 6 engineers in developing and implementing complex embedded software solutions, focusing on SFOC projects for motor controls in power tools.
Work closely with the Chief Engineer for Embedded Software and other software teams across design centers to enhance platforming initiatives and drive innovation.
Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, including estimating, monitoring, and ensuring timely delivery of software development tasks.
Provide technical guidance to team members and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to develop highly complex systems.
Evaluate and implement secure coding practices and approve design reviews to ensure software quality.
Develop and execute product and technology strategies to promote advanced technologies and processes, contributing to the company's mission and goals.
Plan resources, develop personnel, and proactively manage employee health and safety.
About You:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
At least 10 years of experience in Embedded Software development, with deep knowledge of SFOC implementation in power tools and proven experience leading teams focused on SFOC projects.
Advanced proficiency in C/C++ and experience with Git.
Experience with Jira APIs and errata sheets.
Skills in troubleshooting, applying object-oriented design principles, and a proven track record of fostering innovation and continuous improvement in a technical environment.
Knowledge of motor control, particularly Sensorless Field Oriented Control, and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support platforming initiatives.
