Position: Rehab Tech
Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Rossmoor Post Acute is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and organized Rehab Tech to support our rehabilitation department. This position plays a vital role in enhancing the efficiency of therapy services by assisting therapists with non-clinical support tasks, equipment management, patient transportation, and departmental coordination.

Position Overview

The Rehab Tech performs a variety of non-clinical support duties to assist the rehabilitation team in delivering high-quality care. Responsibilities include preparing treatment areas, transporting residents, maintaining equipment and supplies, supporting documentation processes, and ensuring a safe and efficient therapy environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Rehabilitation Support

  • Assist with the setup and preparation of physical, occupational, and speech therapy treatment sessions as directed by therapists.

  • Support treatment activities while considering patient-specific goals, precautions, and safety requirements.

  • Transport and transfer residents safely to and from therapy sessions as directed by therapists.

  • Prepare therapy equipment and treatment areas before and after patient use.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment.

Patient & Team Coordination

  • Communicate routinely with supervisors, therapists, and healthcare personnel regarding patient schedules and department needs.

  • Collaborate with therapists to coordinate resident scheduling and treatment logistics.

  • Direct all clinical questions and concerns to the supervising therapist.

  • Report unusual occurrences, safety concerns, or patient-related issues promptly to the therapist or supervisor.

  • Attend team meetings, department trainings, and staff education programs as assigned.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Accurately complete and submit logs, reports, and departmental forms as directed.

  • Assist in monitoring rehabilitation documentation to ensure timely completion and filing.

  • Participate in denials management activities to support timely claims processing and appeals.

  • Monitor inventory levels and order office and clinical supplies as needed.

  • Assist with departmental projects, in-services, wellness programs, and community-related activities.

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control procedures, safety standards, and equipment maintenance protocols.

  • Use sound judgment and appropriate concern for the safety of patients, coworkers, and visitors.

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and company records in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.

  • Adhere to company dress code and professional conduct standards at all times.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to safely transport and assist residents as directed.

  • Basic computer and documentation skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Rehab Tech, Rehab Aide, Therapy Aide, or in a rehabilitation, skilled nursing, healthcare, or therapy setting.

  • Experience working with elderly or rehabilitation patients.

  • Knowledge of rehabilitation services and therapy department operations.
