In Abbotts Electrophysiology (EP) business, were advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

This facility will offer 1,200 local new jobs and will be the first health manufacturing facility in Querétaro (pioneers for healthcare Hub).

The Opportunity

Responsible for supporting business operations continuity through the implementation and monitoring of the company’s safety, occupational health, and environmental activities.

Contributes to the protection of the environment, as well as the health, hygiene, and safety of personnel, processes, and facilities, ensuring that operational practices are carried out in compliance with established procedures, regulations, and standards.

 What You’ll Do

  • Ensure follow-up of safety events (e.g., accidents, first aid cases, near-misses) through their registration, analysis, implementation of corrective actions, and communication to the organization via safety alerts.
  • Provide support for the execution of risk assessments (Job Safety Analysis) in production, technical, and administrative areas, as well as on machinery/equipment, and prior to the execution of work by external companies (contractors and/or service providers).

  • Provide support in defining the structure and implementing an EHS management system that ensures the well-being of employees and the environment.
  • Support efforts to ensure the communication and understanding of the safety and environmental policy at all levels of the organization.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to achieve and maintain legal and corporate compliance in health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Periodically evaluate the effectiveness of health, safety, and environmental protection programs, identifying and addressing opportunities for improvement through a preventive approach.
  • Conduct safety walkthroughs to identify acts or conditions that may pose risks to employees, the environment, or facilities.
  • Support the establishment of EHS initiatives aligned with corporate standards and local legal requirements to help implement a strong safety culture within the organization.
  • Follow up on employee development and awareness programs, ensuring the promotion of an EHS culture.
  • Participate, as required, in multidisciplinary meetings to ensure compliance with EHS requirements for risk prevention.

Required Qualifications

  •  Education: Completed Bachelor’s or Engineering degree (degree required).
  • Intermediate–advanced English proficiency.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a related position.
  • Knowledge and application of the following regulations and standards: STPS, Civil Protection, SSA, SEMARNAT, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, OSHA.
  • Interest in developing within a plant start-up (greenfield environment).
