UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to work within our Oncology team.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 40 hours per week
  • Day shift

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides expertise and support to nurses caring for oncology patients at the bedside, helps drive practice changes throughout the organization, and ensures the use of national guidelines, best practices, and evidence-based care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes
  • Consults with staff regarding assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of oncologic patient care. Serves as a role model and provides information and resources to cultivate staff skills and enhance nursing practice.
  • Coordinates care delivery for complex patients, including identification of ethical issues and resources to assure safety and quality patient care.
  • Collaborates with staff and managers to identify staff learning needs and develops and conducts educational activities.
  • Empowers and supports healthcare teams through the Shared Leadership framework and facilitates frontline RN ownership of unit-based and specialty-based projects that enhance collaboration, care delivery, and/or clinical outcomes. Collaborates with Clinical Nurse Researcher to design, implement, and disseminate nursing research.  Serves as a mentor for staff nurses in conducting quality improvement and research.
  • Leads or co-leads projects and educational programs with a focus on enhancing quality, patient outcomes, and vascular access care/CLABSI prevention

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree in Nursing; Applicable experience may substitute for education.
  • 4 years of current Oncology related nursing experience
  • An active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
  • Leadership, quality improvement, or clinical education experience
  • An active chemotherapy administration certification, preferred
  • Oncology Certification or willingness to obtain, preferred

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$128,520.00 annual

$191,028.00 annual
