Guidehouse is seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant to support the firm's work with state and local clients throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware.
The State and Local Government practice serves clients in the areas of operational analysis, business process improvement, organizational strategy, program design, implementation of large programs, data analysis and modeling, change management, technology strategy and transformation, compliance monitoring and reporting, and more.
What You Will Do:
- Be a member of one or more project delivery teams, as either an individual contributor or workstream leader.
- Be a trusted advisor who supports state and local agencies to meet their missions and improve their operations.
- Support business development efforts, including RFP responses, proposal development, client presentations, and account planning.
- Translate strategy into action for our clients, particularly within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, City of Philadelphia, and State of Delaware.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University
- Minimum of 1+ (ONE) years of overall work experience for a consultant and Minimum of 3+ (THREE) years overall work experience for a senior consultant, ideally consulting experience or experience in related field
- Ability to work independently but with oversight from management, typically in person 2-3 days per week
- Experience in managing components of projects, ownership of workstreams and/or analytics and supervising, coaching or mentoring others in daily tasks is required
- Must possess strong analytical skills and leverage analytic techniques to use data to guide client and team decision-making
- Must have advanced data collection, research, information finding experience and explore solutions that challenge critical thinking
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to produce client ready deliverables including PowerPoint presentations
- Ability to grasp and communicate business implications of technically complex products and services
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to review work product of self and others and produce work product and deliverables that require minimal re-work or editing
- Collaborative and a team player
- Ability to travel within Pennsylvania and Delaware, and at times outside the states
- Must reside within commuting distance of Philadelphia, PA

What Would Be Nice To Have:
- MBA, MPA or other Master’s degree in public policy, Government, Political/Social Science, Information Systems, Operational Research, Management, International Development, Economics, Urban Science and/or related field
- Professional certifications, such as Project Management Professional, Lean Six Sigma, Certified Change Management Professional, or other relevant public-sector, process improvement, or technology transformation credentials
- Experience working with state or local government entities in Pennsylvania, Delaware, or other states
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge and/or a proven record of success with key facets of state and local government, including government administration, economic development, housing, sustainability, technology transformation, transportation and/or public finance
- Familiarity with the government acquisition and procurement process, including identifying and tracking anticipated RFPs, leading or contributing to proposals and expanding work with existing public sector clients.
