Responsible Gaming Representative
On-site, Casino New Brunswick Language Requirement: Bilingual (English & French)
Our team and what we’ll accomplish together
At TELUS Health, we believe that supporting vulnerable populations is core to building a healthier future. This is why we partner with Casino New Brunswick to run the Responsible Gaming Information Centre: a place where you'll directly impact people's lives every day.
Our team responds to guests' inquiries on safe play, educates visitors on responsible gambling, and shares information and resources to ensure individuals have a positive play experience.
We're specifically looking for bilingual team members who can serve both our English and French speaking guests with ease.
How you will make an impact:
Your week might look like educating a group of guests on how games operate, having compassionate, one-on-one conversations with a regular player who's concerned about their habits, or researching new community resources. Specifically, you will:
- Educate the public on healthy gambling practices, explain how the games operate, and provide information on community resources when needed
- Assess the needs of visitors to determine the appropriate course of action
- Have compassionate, one-on-one conversations with guests who may be struggling, and help them connect with support resources and self-exclusion programs
- Offer support and guidance to individuals who wish to enroll in the casino's voluntary self-exclusion program
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of a resource library of gambling-related material by researching and sourcing current community resources
What you bring:
- You are fluent in both English and French (verbal) — this is essential to serving our diverse guest population
- You have completed post-secondary education in social services, human services, or counselling
- You have at least two years of customer service experience
- You have prior experience interacting with a vulnerable population
- You demonstrate patience, empathy, and maturity
- You have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- You have experience with basic computer tasks such as data entry and are familiar with Microsoft Office and basic Excel
- You have flexible availability and can accommodate shifts ranging from 2pm to midnight, 7 days a week — shifts vary and you're able to work across different days and times as business needs require
Why join TELUS Health:
- Meaningful Work: Support vulnerable populations and make a real difference in guests' lives every day
- Growth Opportunities: A fast-growing and dynamic organization that promotes from within
- Our Values: An organization that embraces spirited teamwork, putting customers and communities first, and the courage to innovate and embrace change
