Position Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Lawyer to join our Legal team in Mexico. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with financial regulations, antitrust laws, data protection, and cybersecurity requirements across DTFS entities.
The ideal candidate will take a proactive approach in monitoring regulatory developments, providing strategic legal guidance, and supporting the business in navigating complex legal matters while ensuring full compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Advisory
Monitor applicable financial and regulatory laws and provide proactive legal recommendations to internal stakeholders. Support regulatory strategy and collaborate with External Affairs on lobbying initiatives.Regulatory Procedures & Litigation
Manage regulatory procedures through external counsel, including matters involving PROFECO, CONDUSEF, ARCO rights, and judicial authorities. Oversee litigation and compliance-related disputes.Regulatory Reporting
Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to financial regulatory authorities. Establish and maintain efficient information flows across relevant business areas.Strategic Legal Support
Partner with the Legal Manager to provide legal advice on strategic projects and business decisions.Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements within legal operations and compliance activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Law degree (Licenciatura en Derecho)
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant legal experience
- Languages:
- Spanish (native)
- English (advanced – 90%)
Technical Expertise
- Mexican financial regulatory framework
- Antitrust / competition law
- Data protection laws in Mexico (plus basic knowledge of EU regulations)
