Job Description

Job Description – Production Specialist

1. Role Summary

The Production Specialist is a hands-on technical expert embedded directly within the battery cell manufacturing floor. Operating on a shift-based schedule, this role ensures maximum yield and equipment uptime (OEE) through immediate troubleshooting, direct process intervention, and operator training. You are not just a coordinator; you are a "first responder" to technical issues, capable of operating machinery and leading the frontline team to hit production targets.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • On-site Process Management: Execute and oversee 24/7 production flow through rotating shifts, ensuring zero-gap transitions and continuous output.
  • Immediate Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, or process-related issues on the floor to minimize downtime and prevent scrap.
  • Direct Operation & Intervention: Actively participate in cell manufacturing processes (Electrode, Assembly, or Formation) as needed to maintain production continuity during surges or labor gaps.
  • Operator Training & Mentorship: Lead on-the-job training (OJT) for operators, ensuring strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and safety protocols.
  • Yield & Productivity Optimization: Monitor real-time production data to detect bottlenecks and implement immediate corrective actions to improve yield and OEE.
  • Safety & 5S Leadership: Enforce rigorous safety standards specific to battery manufacturing (fire hazards, chemical handling) and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

3. Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in battery cell manufacturing or highly automated industrial environments.
  • Shift Work: Absolute flexibility and willingness to work in a rotating shift system (day/night/weekend).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in operating and maintaining battery production equipment (e.g., Coaters, Stackers, Laser Welders).
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and use diagnostic tools.
    • Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Physical/Mental Resilience: Ability to work in a cleanroom environment (wearing full PPE/smocks) and handle high-pressure situations.

4. Preferred Skills

  • Experience in "Ramping up" new production lines (Greenfield projects).
  • Certifications in Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance or Battery Technology.
  • Proven track record of leading small teams or acting as a Shift Lead/Foreman.
  • Bilingual skills (Korean/English or local language) for global communication.

5. Core Competencies

  • Action-Oriented: A proactive mindset that prioritizes "solving the problem on the floor" over reporting from a desk.
  • Technical Leadership: Ability to simplify complex technical instructions for frontline staff.
  • Crisis Management: Calm and decisive under pressure when equipment failures or quality excursions occur.
