Job Description

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for a Collections Specialist I for our Columbus, Ohio location.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance of customer accounts through collection activity and account research.
  • Responsible for Tier 2 inbound calls into the Credit & Collections department through multiple channels including voice, text, social media, and Customer or Sales Rep portals.
  • Follows up with Customers and Sales Representatives within 24 hours of phone or email request.
  • Works accounts receivable aging reports, collection reports, and sales representative reports as assigned by Credit & Collections Management.
  • Meet department metric standards on a monthly basis.
  • Provides superior customer service by maintaining focus on the 2-customer philosophy.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation on customer account interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Credit & Collections Management. 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in Collections, Accounts receivable, or a similar role
  • B2B collections experience preferred
  • The ability to resolve complex payment issues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, AX, Excel, etc.)
  • The ability to communicate in a professional manner with management, sales representatives, customers, and co-workers in both written and verbal form
  • The ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations
  • The ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Proficient in skip tracing and establishing alternative contacts
  • The ability to handle confidential information and use discretion while performing job tasks
  • The successful completion of a ninety (90) day orientation period

 

Additional Information

 

**This is a Monday-Friday role. The shifts are 8 hours with the schedule between the hours of 8:00.am-6:00pm. Will work 9:00am-6:00pm once a week.
