Become a part of our caring community

The Lead AV Engineer is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving enterprise audiovisual (AV) engineering standards across meeting spaces, broadcast environments, and collaboration platforms. This role serves as the technical authority for room design, acoustics, AV infrastructure, and lifecycle strategy—ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-quality user experiences across Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro, Neat, and telephony-integrated environments.

Key Responsibilities

Meeting Room Design Standards & Engineering

  • Define and maintain enterprise meeting room design standards, including room profiles, layouts, and technology configurations
  • Establish and govern standard build matrices across room types (huddle, conference, executive, training, broadcast)
  • Lead design reviews for new builds, renovations, and complex AV deployments
  • Ensure consistent experience across collaboration platforms and standardized room profiles

Acoustical Standards & Environmental Requirements

  • Own acoustical standards including reverberation control, noise isolation, and speech intelligibility targets
  • Define requirements for lighting, room geometry, and environmental controls to support high-quality AV performance
  • Partner with real estate, construction, and workplace teams to embed AV requirements early in design and build processes

AV Equipment Portfolio & Platform Strategy

  • Own the approved AV hardware portfolio (cameras, microphones, DSPs, displays, control systems, peripherals)
  • Drive standardization and certification across Neat, Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms Pro, and integrated AV systems
  • Establish platform standards for QSC ecosystems, DSP architectures, and control system frameworks
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and drive roadmap evolution across AV hardware and software platforms

Lifecycle Management

  • Define and manage hardware and platform lifecycle strategy including refresh cycles, EOL/EOS planning, and risk-based replacement
  • Maintain portfolio health, standardization targets, asset governance, and capacity planning inputs
  • Partner with finance and procurement to align lifecycle plans with budget and long-range strategy

Release Management & Change Control

  • Establish and govern AV release management processes (firmware, platform updates, configurations, integrations)
  • Validate compatibility across platforms, devices, and room configurations; prevent regressions and service interruptions
  • Partner with operations to ensure controlled deployment and production stability

Broadcast Technologies & High-Production AV

  • Lead architecture and standards for broadcast, streaming, and high-production AV environments (studios, auditoriums, executive broadcasts)
  • Define requirements for cameras, audio processing, lighting, switching, and encoding technologies
  • Ensure systems support enterprise-scale live events and executive communications

Vendor Relationships & Management

  • Serve as engineering lead for vendor and integrator relationships, ensuring alignment to enterprise standards and outcomes
  • Define technical requirements within RFPs and SOWs; validate vendor designs and enforce adherence to standards
  • Establish strong vendor management practices including performance tracking, SLA governance, and continuous improvement
  • Drive commercial and technical accountability across AV vendors to optimize cost, quality, and delivery execution

Telephony & Collaboration Integration

  • Align AV room strategy with enterprise telephony and meeting platforms
  • Ensure seamless integration across Zoom Phone, Teams Phone, and room systems
  • Drive consistency in user experience and interoperability across platforms
