- Perform clinical assessment and identify patient needs
- Document, prepare, and complete patient Plan of Care. Track progress and revise as needed
- Meet mandatory continuing education requirements
- Assess and facilitate through direct therapeutic intervention the patient's ROM, strength, coordination, need for and use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications, functional mobility, and safety issues as related to the patient's ADL performance need. Fabricate and maintain adaptive equipment and hand splints
- Communicate effectively with the family and team members to achieve desirable outcomes
- Evaluate patient occupational performance in self-care, work, leisure, and rest. Assesses sensory-motor neuromuscular, psycho-social, and cognitive-perceptual components of occupational behavior. Assesses the patient's occupational environment's physical, social, and cultural components
- Promote company mission and administrative policies to ensure the quality of care
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
- Current Texas State License as an Occupational Therapist
- Current Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Two years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in an acute care or rehabilitation setting. Pediatric experience required
- Effective interpersonal relations and communication skills
- Knowledge of durable medical equipment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally
- Able to work in a patient's home in various conditions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Proof of current CPR certification
- Ability to do heavy lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, and standing. Prolonged standing and walking are required
- Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs and to meet patient/family individualized psychosocial needs
