Position Summary

The Director, Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing Biolyst’s end-to-end supply chain strategy supporting its Morgantown, PA manufacturing facility and external third-party logistics (3PL) partners. This role oversees procurement, supplier management, inventory planning, production planning, logistics, and outsourced fulfillment operations.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring seamless integration between internal manufacturing operations and external 3PL providers to deliver high service levels, operational efficiency, and cost control. The Director will build scalable supply chain processes to support business growth and global customer demand.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Biolyst’s supply chain strategy aligned with operational and business growth objectives.
• Lead supply chain operations supporting the Morgantown manufacturing facility.
• Establish scalable supply chain infrastructure to support growth and operational efficiency.
• Lead selection, implementation, and ongoing management of third-party logistics providers responsible for warehousing, fulfillment, and distribution.
• Establish and manage service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for 3PL providers.
• Conduct regular performance reviews with 3PL partners and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure effective integration between ERP systems and 3PL warehouse management systems.
• Oversee sourcing and procurement of raw materials, clean room consumables, and manufacturing components.
• Lead supplier negotiations to ensure competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and quality standards.
• Develop inventory strategies to ensure material availability while optimizing working capital.
• Coordinate with manufacturing leadership to support demand forecasting and production planning.
• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including domestic and international shipments.
• Optimize logistics strategies to improve service levels and reduce transportation costs.
• Utilize ERP systems and analytics tools to monitor supply chain performance.
• Develop and monitor supply chain performance metrics including supplier performance, inventory turns, and fulfillment accuracy.

 

Required Skills and Competencies

• Proven leadership experience in supply chain management within manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
• Strong expertise in procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier negotiations.
• Experience with ERP systems and supply chain analytics.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and process improvement skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience.
• 5+ years managing logistics, distribution, or 3PL partnerships.
• Experience in manufacturing and distribution environments.
• Experience working with ERP systems and supply chain analytics.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree (MBA or Supply Chain Management preferred).
• Experience in life sciences, medical device, or clean room manufacturing environments.
• Experience implementing or optimizing 3PL partnerships.
• Experience supporting global distribution operations.

 

Work Environment

This position is based in Morgantown, PA and supports Biolyst’s manufacturing and global distribution operations. Travel to third-party logistics providers, suppliers, and partners is required as needed.
