THE POSITION

An integral part of VaxCare, this position is a knowledgeable and dependable resource who quickly, efficiently, and effectively solves public health issues facing our internal teams and partners. The role entails acting as a public health and payments Subject Matter Expert (SME) and owning key workflows critical to VaxCare’s success by ensuring targeted levels of quality, productivity, and effectiveness are achieved without directly managing the team responsible. While a cross-functional position, the role will primarily support billing, eligibility, and payments elements of public health-related projects, including those related to the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), and new/modified Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations.



ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with VaxCare’s Product, Operations, and Network teams to support key public health initiatives, including VFC maintenance/expansion, risk-based vaccine billing and patient impact programs, and incorporation of immunization history into VaxCare adherence programs.
  • Manage internal process from end-to-end to ensure that systems are set up to correctly identify VFC-eligible patients and accurately select stock in alignment with federal and jurisdiction-specific policies.
  • Develop and own a living database of important state/local vaccine program policies across each immunization jurisdiction to inform system set up, including patient eligibility policies, Medicaid payer contract status, stock for Children’s Health Insurance program (CHIP) enrollees, FQHC payment policies, administration reimbursement rates, claim/billing requirements, and others.
  • Continuously audit VaxCare system to ensure state/local vaccine program policies are reflected in payment and stock decisioning.
  • Research and document patient eligibility and billing criteria for risk-based ACIP recommendations.
  • Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures for VFC, FQHC, and risk-based billing projects as needed.
  • Partner with Sales and Partner Success Manager teams to consult partners on VFC stock decisioning as needed, and be an integral part of the onboarding process for both pre go-live and go-live efforts to ensure that partners are set-up to ultimately reduce VFC stock decision issues.
  • Monitor and report on payer/stock mapping and report out to stakeholders.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2+ years prior experience in a related/relevant field, such as healthcare technology, consulting, and/or public health program management.
  • Demonstrated leadership success on a project or team with or without the leadership title.
  • A proven history of using data to drive and prove results.
  • Prior experience finding constructive paths forward while working in a very fast paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills for handling multiple and conflicting priorities/projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptionally strong consultative and relationship skills. Ability to effectively work and collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to manage a varied set of responsibilities and stay on top of the details that matter while meeting established goals and metrics.
  • Ability to make sound decisions with available information and research autonomously in the face of ambiguity.
  • Prior experience with process improvement or project management.
  • Vaccine, public health, and/or Medicaid subject matter expertise.

  • Remote Work Requirements
    • Must be able to perform job duties independently with minimal supervision.
    • Must have private, distraction -free workspace suitable for confidential and focused work.
    • Must have reliable high-speed internet to support video conferencing and regular computer use.
    • Must be comfortable being on camera for Microsoft Teams meetings/video conference calls.
    • Must be willing & able to travel on-site in Orlando, Florida at least 2x per year.
       (Travel expenses reimbursed by VaxCare)
  • Prolonged sitting or standing: Team members must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, as much of the work involves sitting at a computer or workstation. Some hybrid or office-based roles may also require the ability to stand for portions of a shift.
  • Repetitive motions: Significant use of the hands, wrists, and fingers is required for tasks like typing, using a computer mouse, and handling paperwork.
  • Treating data engineering as a craft, with strong attention to correctness, performance, and maintainability
  • Visual acuity: This job requires the ability to view a computer screen and read documents for extended periods.
  • Communication: Team members must be able to clearly express and exchange ideas in English to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers.
  • Occasional lifting: Many office-based jobs specify the ability to occasionally lift or move up to 10-20 pounds to handle supplies or equipment.
