Job Description

We are looking to hire a new position of an Engineering Candidate in our Transportation department, based out of our Barrie office. This position is suitable for a recent graduate or an early-career professional. The successful candidate will support a range of transportation planning and traffic engineering assignments, including traffic impact studies, development and site plan reviews, parking studies, transportation master plans, functional design and planning, traffic operations and intersection capacity analyses, speed limit and road safety reviews, traffic signal warrant and timing analyses, and Municipal Class Environmental Assessments. Key Responsibilities:  Conduct site visits and field investigations. Collect and analyze data. Develop traffic projections and undertake traffic operations reviews and capacity analyses using appropriate modelling software. Assist with traffic impact studies, parking studies, transportation master plans, functional designs, road safety reviews, and other transportation planning assignments. Prepare design briefs, memoranda, reports, figures, presentations, and other project deliverables. Assist with proposals, work plans, budgets, and schedules. Coordinate with internal staff, other Tatham departments, subconsultants, clients, agencies, and external project partners. Support project managers in delivering assignments in accordance with established scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. Key Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Meet the requirements of PEO as a candidate for becoming a professional engineer in the Province of Ontario and be committed to following the PEO Competency Based Assessment program. 0 - 4 years of relevant experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, or a related field. Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret data, complete calculations, and clearly communicate technical findings. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Experience with transportation analysis and modelling software would be considered an asset. Previous consulting, co-op, internship, or municipal transportation experience would be considered an asset. Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation.
