Job Description
Midland Transport is currently seeking a Senior Project Specialist in Dieppe, NB. The Training Lead is a program‑level role within the Transformation Program, accountable for defining, governing, and executing the end‑to‑end training strategy, approach, and plan across all transformation initiatives. This role ensures that a consistent, scalable, and business‑aligned training framework is in place to prepare the organization for new processes, tools, and ways of working - enabling confident adoption and sustained operational performance.
The Training Lead designs a fit‑for‑purpose training approach that spans needs assessment, curriculum development, delivery planning, and effectiveness measurement. They establish training standards and governance that ensure consistency across workstreams and deployment waves while allowing flexibility to address domain‑specific and terminal‑level requirements. The Training Lead ensures that training is not treated as a one‑time event but as an embedded capability that supports readiness, go‑live, hypercare, and long‑term sustainment.
This role partners closely with the Change Manager, Transition Lead, Product Owners, Business Architects, and Operations stakeholders to ensure training activities are aligned with deployment sequencing, change readiness milestones, and business outcomes—building organizational capability and confidence at every stage of the transformation.
- Own the end‑to‑end training strategy, standards, and governance across the Transformation Program.
- Lead needs assessment and develop role‑based, process‑aligned training with SMEs and business partners.
- Plan and manage training delivery across waves, including scheduling, logistics, and facilitator readiness.
- Establish quality, version control, and feedback processes to keep training content accurate and current.
- Align training with change management to support adoption and address capability gaps.
- Integrate training into deployment readiness with Transition Leads to ensure go‑live readiness.
- Track training effectiveness and adoption metrics, providing clear reporting to program leadership.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5-8 years of experience in training strategy, learning and development, or organizational capability building within large-scale transformation or technology implementation programs.
- Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), Certified Training Professional (CTP), or equivalent learning and development certification considered an asset; Prosci Change Management Practitioner certification preferred.
- Proven experience designing and delivering role-based, blended training programs (instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, job aids) across multi-site or multi-wave deployments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage training logistics, facilitator networks, and content governance at program scale.
- Experience working with Agile, hybrid, or phased delivery models in enterprise transformation environments.
- Experience in the Transportation industry.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration skills, working across change management, operations, technology, and deployment teams.
- Strong analytical skills with an evidence-based approach to training needs assessment, effectiveness measurement, and continuous improvement.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, capable of engaging audiences from frontline operators to senior leadership with clarity and credibility.
