Support Specialist II
7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Standard Employee Group
12 Month Position (year-round)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Associates Degree in computer science or related field preferred. 3 - 5 years experience in computer technology field or related job experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties must be performed on site. Other duties or tasks may be assigned.
- Provides excellent customer service according to CompTIA A+ standards to administrators, teachers, staff, students and others.
- Completes assigned work orders within determined timelines as directed by the supervisor.
- Provides direct assistance to students, staff, and others including but not limited to troubleshooting computer hardware problems and training on the proper use of devices and systems.
- Works directly with students, staff, and families in the Technology Support Center at school sites.
- Assists in inventory, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software as directed.
- Ensures that equipment is inventoried and secure consistent with district standards and procedures.
- Transports equipment to all district facilities as assigned.
- Maintains documentation of work consistent with district standards and procedures.
- Perform tasks related to specific roles as assigned, including but not limited to: Wireless Networking, Workstation Imaging, Server Maintenance, Disaster Recovery / Data Backup, Technology Support Center Coordinator, Telephone, Security Camera, Low Voltage, Display Systems etc�as directed.
- Maintain system and password security in compliance with District cyber security requirements including two step authentication when required.
- Comply with all District policy and legal requirements for data privacy and security including HIPAA and FERPA.
- A mobile phone stipend will be provided and requires the employee to acquire and maintain a mobile phone capable of: making and receiving phone calls and text messages, connecting to WiFi networks, installing Google applications including hangouts, calendar, docs, sheets, email. User is required to use phone for 2-Step authentication for District accounts.
