Job Description
Job Title: Private Banking Division Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Private Banking
Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 5:30pm; Weekends as necessary
General Job Summary:
Lead a team of Private Bankers in the delivery of relationship management and new business development for clients and prospects. Responsible for identifying, soliciting, servicing, delivering and coordinating the delivery of a broad range of financial products and services via team members.
Organizational Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports the mission, vision and philosophy of the Bank. Complies, and directs team members, with all organizational policies and procedures.
Supports all functions that maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a Manager/Lender, leading and supporting a team of Private Bankers in the delivery of a broad range of financial products and services to clients and prospects
Provide a team of Private Bankers with direct support and mentoring in all facets of credit underwriting, product delivery and new business development
Lead Private Bankers in the execution of proper sales and relationship management techniques, oversee their performance, provide appropriate feedback and support their growth
Evaluate loan requests and approve credits within approved authority and make credit recommendations to Executive Management
Analyze financial condition of clients and prospects to determine capacity for credit obligations
Negotiate credit terms and conditions to properly manage the Bank’s exposure to risk and ensure sufficient return
Spearhead and coordinate communication with other departments of the bank as to the functioning of processes, procedures, and operations
Work with Private Banking Director and Human Resources in recruitment and hiring of team members
Assist with expansion of market presence
Complete annual evaluations of employees, budget, and confirmation of incentive plans
Effectively resolve employee problems and disputes, including employee performance as compared to stated goals, teamwork accountability, work quality, and any other job or workplace issues that occur
Other Functions:
Serve on internal Bank committees for review of policies and procedures
Support Bank’s commitment to community involvement by serving on external charitable Board of Directors and by attending functions
Working Conditions: Indoor, office environment with occasional travel as needed
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in business, accounting, finance or banking/or equivalent education and related training. Will consider equivalent, applicable years of experience
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years banking experience with broad exposure to both consumer and commercial lending
Minimum 2 years of leadership experience
Specific Skills:
Possess and demonstrate a broad, fundamental understanding of financial planning and investment concepts, and have a sound knowledge of retail bank credit and deposit products
Strong interpersonal, sales, sales management, relationship management and team building skills
Strong written, verbal and communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office desktop applications
Supervisory Responsibility: Responsible for managing/directing a Private Banking Division
Supervise Private Bankers and support staff
