Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Yard Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, environmentally responsible handling of material and operation of equipment.
This is not a CDL position, more for an operator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Move bulk material and cargo around yard
Complete daily paperwork
Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, complete daily pre-trip inspection.
Perform general labor tasks to assist with material processing and property maintenance, or other projects as needed.
Follow all safety and operational policies, regulations, and programs.
Successfully complete all required training programs
Monitor equipment and report any issues or concerns.
Perform other duties as assigned and assist other staff as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years of diesel truck experience, must be able to drive a stick shift
HS Diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and transportation required.
Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work varied hours including weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or overnight shifts required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk with alternate standing. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a dry, sometimes dusty warehouse environment . The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
