We offer differential pay for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts from $1-$6.
Judy Retterath Withdrawal Management Center (formerly Mission Care Detox Center), opened in 1978 as Minnesota’s first licensed detoxification program. Forty years later, our facility continues to be a leader and innovator in Minnesota’s early recovery community, operating as one of the state’s first withdrawal management programs. Recently renovated, there has been no more exciting time to join our team as we grow our programming and pioneer best practices for this emerging field.
Position Summary
As a member of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, the RN will provide health care services and coordinate admissions and discharges for the patients undergoing detoxification from alcohol and other substances. Serve as the Responsible Staff Person on each shift.
Supervision: Reports directly to the Program Director
Position Responsibilities
- Act as the responsible staff person.
- Complete visual medical assessments of all clients at time of admission and through formal medical assessment.
- Communicate with physician regarding medical orders, transfer and client incidents, providing appropriate emergency referrals to outside agencies.
- Order and administer medication in an appropriate and prompt method following defined policies.
- Ensure that the program does not exceed the required staff-to-patient ratios, and must inform admitting staff of the current staffed capacity of the program for that shift.
- Ensure a safe environment, including prevention of potential injury to clients and staff.
- Be sensitive to clients’ needs and make decisions based on the client’s rights.
- Be sensitive to the diverse backgrounds of residents and their families, and act in ways that project fairness and equality.
- Attend all staff meetings, in-service trainings, and quarterly emergency procedure reviews.
Required Experience And Qualifications
- Hold a current RN/LPN license to practice in the State of Minnesota.
- We prefer a minimum one year of experience in nursing, ideally in acute setting.
- Knowledge of addiction, co-occurring mental health disorders and the complications of withdrawal.
- Prior training or experience in assessing needs of adolescents and seniors or completion of program training within thirty days of employment.
- Computer proficiency required; including the ability to use e-mail, navigate the internet, and complete basic data entry in an electronic health record system.
- Ability to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
Salary And Benefits
Salary: starts at $35.00/h with differentials for the following shifts:
Evening Weekdays $2.00
Overnight Weekdays $4.00
AM Weekends $1.50
Evening Weekends $4.00
Overnight Weekends $6.00
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Benefits: This position is not benefits eligible
Hours: Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
