PRIMAVERA P6 PROJECT SCHEDULER
The Primavera P6 Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting project schedules for heavy civil construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, engineers, estimators, subcontractors, and owners to ensure accurate planning, progress tracking, critical path management, and timely project delivery. The Scheduler provides schedule risk analysis, recovery planning, and schedule documentation to support project execution and claims avoidance. Primavera P6 serves as the primary scheduling platform
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop detailed baseline CPM schedules using Primavera P6.
- Create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity coding structures, calendars, milestones, and logic relationships.
- Build schedules from construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project scopes.
- Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis and identify schedule risks.
- Maintain and update project schedules on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Coordinate schedule updates with project managers, field superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Analyze schedule variances and recommend recovery plans when delays occur.
- Prepare schedule narratives, executive reports, look-ahead schedules, and progress dashboards.
- Perform Time Impact Analyses (TIA) and delay evaluations when required.
- Support estimating teams with bid schedules and pre-construction planning.
- Develop resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules as required.
- Track procurement, fabrication, permitting, utility relocations, and construction activities.
- Review subcontractor schedules for compliance with contract requirements.
- Participate in owner, contractor, and project progress meetings.
- Ensure schedules comply with owner, DOT, agency, and contract specifications.
- Maintain schedule documentation for claims prevention and dispute resolution
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5+ years of scheduling experience on heavy civil construction projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Strong understanding of CPM scheduling principles.
- Experience with highways, bridges, rail, transit, utilities, underground, earthwork, or transportation projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and scheduling reports.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with field operations and project management teams
