Day Kimball Health is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant to join our Outpatient Physical Medicine team!
Location: Putnam, CT
Schedule: 24 hours/week | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

- Records treatment, response, progress and discharge information in patient's chart or enters information into computer.
- Performs physical therapy procedures and elated tasks that have been selected and delegated by the supervising physical therapist in the plan of care to include but not be limited to, exercise, heat and cold applications, traction, massage, gait training and hydrotherapy.
- Educates patient, family and significant others regarding condition, treatment and home program.
- Routinely confers with physician and other practitioners in person, by phone, or in writing, regarding progress, regression or change of plan.
- Consults with supervising therapist reporting patient status and recommendations.
- Maintains professional growth by attendance of department meetings, interview and educational conferences. Includes participation in hospital orientation and departmental and community interview education and programs as directed.
- Assists with the planning and implementation of new programs.
- Associates degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program required.
- Licensure by the State of Connecticut required.
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
- Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred.
- Uses common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick or handicapped.
- Understands technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals, and labels.
- Uses eyes, hands, and fingers with skill.
- Works fast and accurately in emergency situations.
- Communicates well with people when they are sick, handicapped or nervous.
- Change activities frequently.
- Identifies and acts on priorities for smooth department operation.
- Maintains discretion in handling the confidential nature of the information available.
- Keeps up-to-date on current trends and developments in the field of physical medicine and health services.
