
Traveling Superintendent – Residential Construction
Job Description
- Oversee all aspects of residential construction projects, ensuring smooth planning, implementation, and completion
- Manage high-volume, high-turnover renovations and new builds with uncompromising quality standards
- Allocate resources effectively for assigned projects, ensuring proper staffing and material management
- Supervise onsite personnel, including subcontractors, ensuring they meet project standards
- Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
- Negotiate with contractors to ensure reasonable costs and effective project management
- Ensure high standards of workmanship, adhering to original plans and specifications
- Maintain daily logs, weekly reports, and ensure all project documentation is up-to-date
- Maintain strict project schedules and take proactive measures to meet deadlines
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in construction supervision with strong understanding of residential construction
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore) to streamline operations
- Experience managing high-volume residential projects, including both renovations and new builds
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to manage diverse teams of personnel and subcontractors
- Exceptional negotiation skills to ensure favorable contract terms and manage costs effectively
- Detail-oriented while maintaining focus on meeting project deadlines
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout North Carolina regularly to oversee projects
