POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep of the facilities and equipment on site. They will perform preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment in the manufacturing plant as well as company vehicles. Also, they will manage the landscape by mowing, removing snow, and other tasks to keep the facility in good condition.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.
- Performs preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment in the manufacturing plant as well as company vehicles.
- Manages the landscape by mowing, removing snow, and other tasks to keep the facility in good condition.
- Conducts inspections of production equipment and safety apparatus on a regular basis.
- Maintains the facilitys landscape and building infrastructure.
- Fabricates various structures, jigs, and fixtures as asked by various departments.
- Installs A/C units in facilities and assist with some light construction as needed.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma/GED.
Preferred Education:
- None.
Required Experience:
- Experience using basic hand and power tools.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of HVAC, air lines, hydraulic, AC and DC electrical, and some mechanical experience.
Position Requirements:
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Locate work orders and process them within the time allotment according to the work order and department objectives.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic tasks with a brake press, band saw, shear, welder, and plasma machine.
- Ability to identify quality issues and recognize changes within one’s process and make the needed adjustments.
- Able to follow written and verbal directions and do so with a positive attitude.
- You recognize the importance and adherence to all safety policies in order to promote a safe working environment, for everyone at the organization.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well in a team environment.
- Understand the need to support the organization to work effectively by adhering to the attendance and punctuality standards and does not burden co-workers and supervisors unfairly with unnecessary and unplanned absences and lateness.
- Able to work professionally with vendors.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports, correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
- fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
- Ability to perform simple tasks, such as typing a letter and using basic commands such as setting tabs, opening and closing files, simple formulas.
- Prior experience with a computer terminal and/or PC.
Decision Making:
- Responsibilities are guided by a set of guidelines that provide methods for problem solving.
- Decisions are made within these guidelines initially, and a supervisor is informed afterwards.
- Supervisor regularly reviews the activities to determine if the guidelines have been followed.
