This opportunity is for a new graduate Product Engineer in the Digital & Signoff Group (DSG) at Cadence. As part of the Liberate Library Characterization Team, you will work alongside experienced R&D and Customer Engagement engineers to develop expertise in library characterization, modeling, circuit simulation, and semiconductor design automation. This role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to learn, solve challenging technical problems, and grow into customer-facing product engineering roles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Learn and apply library characterization methodologies for standard cell, memory, I/O, and mixed-signal IP using Cadence Liberate products.
- Analyze timing, power, and variation characterization results and investigate technical issues.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to validate new product features and improve characterization flows.
- Debug customer-reported problems and help develop technical solutions.
- Develop automation tools and workflows using Python, Tcl, Perl, or shell scripting.
- Work with customer engagement teams to support technology adoption and project execution.
- Create technical documentation, training materials, and application notes.
- Contribute to product evaluations and benchmarking activities for advanced semiconductor technologies.
Job Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in semiconductor devices, CMOS circuits, and digital design fundamentals.
- Basic understanding of circuit simulation and SPICE concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively in a global engineering environment.
Additional Skills / Preferences:
- Coursework or project experience related to semiconductor devices, digital circuits, VLSI design, or EDA tools.
- Exposure to timing, power, and library characterization concepts.
- Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, Perl, or Shell.
- Basic understanding of statistics, Monte Carlo simulation, and process variation concepts.
- Exposure to Liberty formats (NLDM, CCS, ECSM, LVF, EM) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Spectre or other circuit simulation tools is a plus.
- Strong curiosity, initiative, and passion for learning advanced semiconductor technologies.
