Job Description
The Lube Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and lubrication services on company fleet vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure operational reliability and minimize downtime. This position is primarily field-based, requiring travel to active job sites, with limited work performed in the shop. Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B – Required.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform routine preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment, including oil changes and lubrication services
Travel to job sites to service equipment in the field with minimal supervision
Maintain and execute assigned preventative maintenance schedules
Conduct multi-point inspections to identify mechanical issues, wear, or safety concerns
Monitor and maintain fluid levels (engine oil, coolant, transmission, hydraulic systems, etc.)
Inspect tires, brakes, belts, hoses, and undercarriage components
Maintain accurate and timely maintenance records and report deficiencies
Ensure compliance with company safety standards and operating procedures
Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and mobile work setup
Assist mechanics and technicians with repairs and diagnostics as needed
Qualifications
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B – Required
Working knowledge of preventative maintenance practices for diesel and/or heavy equipment
Ability to work independently and manage workload without direct supervision
Strong organizational and time management skills
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Ability to follow schedules and complete assigned work within established timeframes
Reliable attendance and accountability
Work Environment
Primarily field-based position with regular travel to active job sites
Occasional work performed in shop environment
Exposure to outdoor conditions, including weather, dust, and noise
Frequent interaction with heavy equipment and moving machinery
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined spaces
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to safely perform tasks around heavy equipment
