Job Description
The Financial Controller EMEA is responsible for overseeing all financial operations within the region for URUS supporting multiple organizations. This strategic and hands-on role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with local and international regulations, and strong internal controls. The Financial Controller EMEA partners closely with local leadership to support business growth, provide financial insights, and drive operational excellence across the region. This position will also be responsible for aligning financial processes and creating standardization for the region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Accounting
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local statutory accounting principles for each country within the region.
Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process to ensure timely completion and resolution of any findings.
Maintain an effective financial close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and consolidation of regional entities.
Monitor intercompany transactions and ensure proper documentation and elimination procedures are followed.
Oversee the accuracy of the general ledger and ensure the integrity of financial data used for management and external reporting.
Compliance & Controls
Stay up to date on regulatory and tax requirements across the country (e.g., GST/VAT, withholding taxes, transfer pricing, etc.), and ensure full compliance with Faudall jurisdictions.
Develop, implement, and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls in alignment with URUS’ global standards and local regulatory requirements.
Partner with legal and tax advisors to proactively mitigate risk and resolve issues related to compliance, audits, and statutory filings.
Ensure documentation and process readiness for internal controls assessments (e.g., SOX compliance if applicable).
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
Lead the annual budgeting process for the local business units, working with department leaders
and corporate finance to develop, align, and present financial plans.
Provide ongoing analysis of financial results versus budget and forecast, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions or opportunities.
Support long-range strategic planning and scenario modeling to help guide business decisions and investment strategies.
Develop financial models to evaluate business cases, new ventures, capital expenditures, and other strategic initiatives.
Business Partnering & Strategic Support
Act as a trusted advisor to country managers and functional leaders by providing clear financial insights, business performance analysis, and strategic recommendations.
Partner with global supply chain and operations teams to improve cost management, inventory controls, and capital asset utilization.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and mentor a diverse finance team across multiple countries; build a high-performing culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Provide coaching, performance feedback, and career development opportunities to team members.
Establish the best regional practices in finance and accounting operations, fostering a culture of efficiency and standardization.
Collaborate with People to support finance team recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement
Drive the optimization and integration of financial systems and tools across the region; ensure alignment with URUS global technology platforms (e.g., ERP systems, BI tools).
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy, speed, and efficiency.
Ensure data consistency and integrity across systems for accurate financial consolidation and reporting.
Lead or support regional finance-related projects such as system upgrades, M&A integration, or shared service transitions.
Treasury, Tax & Cash Flow Management
Monitor and manage cash flow forecasts and working capital requirements across the region.
Oversee banking relationships, cash movements, and internal funding between entities.
Support the coordination of regional tax planning, including transfer pricing arrangements, tax filings, and audit responses.
Collaborate with the global treasury and tax teams to optimize capital structure and repatriation strategies.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial leadership roles
Expertise in JDE ERP system and HFM financial software is a plus, with a strong focus on system implementations and optimization.
Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience in the agriculture industry is a plus.
