Job Description
Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Vice President, Compliance – Corporate and Ontario, the Director, Compliance – Ontario WEST is responsible for managing the operational aspects of the Company’s compliance program and AML reporting program. This includes: the research and development of AML and compliance policies and procedures, provide guidance and support with AML reporting, provide guidance on reporting on audits and other monitoring activities conducted by internal and external auditors, managing the work of the AML Reporting Coordinators and Compliance Officers, assist in ensuring internal policy and procedures related to AML operations comply with regulatory requirements, communications and issues management. This position ensures adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian’s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities:
Compliance & AML Program Management
- Directs programs, policies and practices to ensure that all business units in Ontario WEST are in compliance with regulations; this includes GC Toronto, Flamboro Downs, Mohawk Casino, Grand River Casino and Brantford Casino
- Leads compliance reviews and audits for site incidents, issues and potential non-compliance.
- Lead ongoing monitoring activities, including compliance reviews, AML reporting errors and exceptions
- Responsible for conducting discussions with Site Management (GM, AGM, Departmental Leads) on incidents, issues, mitigation plans and remediation activities
- Tracks laws and regulations that might affect the Company’s policies and implements necessary changes
- Provides expertise in Anti-Money Laundering and reporting requirements
- Ensures Compliance testing is effective and finds creative solutions to identified compliance risks
- Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and identify inefficient business processes that hinder compliance
Crown & Regulator Support and Partnership
- Oversees and manages the Ontario, site or bundle specific SOP and MOP, including updates and revisions
- Point of contact and liaison with the AGCO and OLG on compliance issues, incidents, investigations, reviews and audits
- Responsible for managing and correcting issues of non-compliance as well as instituting policy to eliminate the lapse in regulatory compliance
- Meets regularly with Regulatory and Crown partners
People Leadership
- Directly oversees and manages Compliance Officers for GC Toronto and WGTA
- Directly oversees and manages AML Reporting Coordinators for GC Toronto
- Supports team member success through coaching, development
Education and Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education or a suitable combination of education and related experience in business administration, policy analysis, project management, program evaluation, data analysis or related fields
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Compliance role
- Strong working knowledge of provincial gaming control laws and federal anti-money laundering laws
- Gaming industry experience an asset
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and deliver program management
- Computer literacy in MS Office
- Technical writing or experience drafting policy and procedure manuals an asset
Minimum Salary (CAD $)130,000.00 - Midpoint Salary (CAD $)150,000.00 - Maximum Salary (CAD $) 180,000.00
