Job Description
Lead 1–3 independent research projects determined by PI priorities and applicant's interests. Work independently for project experimental design, execution, analysis, interpretation and will contribute to the final dissemination of results at conferences and in journal publications. Develop and plan new research ideas in consultation with the PI and actively seek funding opportunities for these projects. Participate in the acquisition of eligible NIH grants and assist the PI with grant preparation when appropriate. Mentor 1-2 undergraduate and PhD students, serving as a scientific collaborator and technical resource. Perform shared lab responsibilities such as maintaining accurate database records and assisting with exercise trial sample collection and analysis. Acquire new skills (i.e. metabolic assays) to allow the lab to expand into novel areas of research. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge in mouse handling, drug administration (SC, IP, and IV), and tumor burden measurements through bioluminescent imaging and body condition scoring. Skilled in multi-color flow cytometry and antibody panel design. Knowledge of bioinformatic methods to analyze bulk and sinlge-cell RNAseq and CITEseq datasets. Ability to run human exercise trials, VO2max testing and phlebotomy. Ability to command routine cell culture techniques and functional immunoassays.
