Position Summary:
Performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. Maintain quality patient care in compliance with San Ysidro Health Core Values. Operate available x-ray equipment to produce quality images of the body.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Positions imaging equipment and adjust controls to set voltage, current, exposure time and distance in accordance with the specifications of the examinations ordered by the providers
Collaborates with Care Team personnel to provide timely and quality services
Reviews and evaluates computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes
Explains procedures and observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan
Demonstrates strong working knowledge of physiology and anatomy to capture proper views of the affected areas as described by the provider orders
Assists in the identification of problems and submits recommendations to Technical Supervisor and Clinic Services Manager
Interprets statutes, rules, policies, and regulations regarding radiation safety as required
Responsible for the proper maintenance of all records relating to licensing and registration of radiation producing machines
Provides and schedules preventive maintenance to equipment and monitors its operation
Maintains complete and accurate medical records to ensure access to records that facilitate continuity of care for patients
Participates in the standardization of imaging services policies and procedures
Provides assistance in dressing or changing seriously ill, injured, or disabled patients
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards
Demonstrates knowledge of current state and federal radiation control laws and regulations
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Job Requirements
Experience Required:
6-months experience as a Radiologic Technologist in an outpatient setting
Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
American Registered Radiology Technologist (ARRT) Exam
Certifications Required:
California Radiology Technologist – Radiography (CRT-R) License
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens subject to varying and unpredictable situations
Exposed to infection from disease-bearing specimens and patients
Wearing protective personal equipment such as gloves, face shield, lab coats, goggles
Working around lab equipment such as centrifuge and office equipment
Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards
Frequent prolonged standing/walking; Lifting 0-20 lbs.; Carrying 0-20 lbs.; Bending, kneeling, climbing, pulling 0-10 lbs., repetitive use of hands, sample grasping, reaching body and hand twisting
Occasionally subjected to irregular hours; may be required to work some evenings/weekends
Travel to other clinics may be required based on business need
