The product manager is a key stakeholder in developing Sun King’s future products and services. This role will work at the intersection of business, technology, and customer experience teams to ideate, develop, pilot, and launch new life-changing products across Sub-Saharan Africa.

What you will be expected to do
New Product Identification
- Generate, refine, and consolidate new product ideas, market research, and customer requirements, capturing them from stakeholders across the company, including R&D, sales, marketing, and operations teams.
- Develop customer survey templates, collect feedback, and present them to internal stakeholders.
- Assess current product offerings in the market, seeking opportunities for differentiation
Product Iteration
- Collect and analyze the feedback from business partners (sales, marketing, operations) and end users to dig out the product iteration requirements.
- Arrange blind tests, organize review and experience of key attributes, and ensure that iteration and design match demands
Product Pilots
- Oversee a successful transition from the prototype stage to the pilot/commercial stage through testing and validation processes.
- Carry out Engineering Validation Testing (focusing on the features) and Technical Validation Testing (focusing on integration), and update the Product Requirements Document (PRD)
- Collaborate with the NPD team to collect Customer Feedback on the product performance and expectations, and convert it into the product definitions.
You might be a strong candidate if you have/are
- A four-year bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in product design, engineering, energy systems, the physical sciences, or a related field.
- 5~10 years of experience in product development in the portable power station industry or other energy storage-related industries.
- Experience in product benchmarking, collecting and analyzing customer feedback, and converting insights into product requirements
- Knowledge of quality assurance and product testing processes
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Other skills: MS Office, Adobe CS, and data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
