This role requires deep technical expertise in apparel construction, fit, grading, manufacturability, and product data accuracy, along with strong judgment and creative problem-solving.

This role works closely with Product Development, Production, Quality, Size & Fit, Line Management, and global factory partners. You build alignment across functions, tailor communication to different audiences, lead effective decision-making meetings, and help balance team workloads when needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead commercialization of assigned styles from prototype approval to production readiness, preserving design intent, functionality, and scalable execution for bulk production.

  • Use sound judgment and analytical problem-solving to address construction, manufacturability, costing, and data issues.

  • Serve as a technical expert in construction, fit, grading, and production, identifying risks early and driving solutions.

  • Manage daily communication with factory partners on key areas including samples and prototyping, construction and costing, and timelines and issue resolution.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete product data in Patagonia’s PLM system, run integrity checks, and lead issue resolution.

  • Oversee size set approvals to keep bulk production on schedule.

  • Review cost sheets and construction methods to provide manufacturability and cost guidance for sourcing decisions.

  • Support re-sourcing initiatives and onboarding of new factory partners while ensuring alignment with Patagonia standards.

  • Provide flexible support across adjacent responsibilities, including development support, data maintenance, and sample evaluation during peak workload periods.

  • Use 3D tools to support business initiatives.

Who You Are

  • Mission Driven: Committed to Patagonia’s environmental and social values.

  • Technically Skilled: Deep understanding of apparel construction, fit, grading, BOMs, costing, and manufacturability.

  • Growth Mindset: Approaches challenges with curiosity and adaptability.

  • Strong Communicator: Able to influence partners, adapt communication to different audiences, and lead effective meetings.

  • Problem Solver: Uses judgment and evaluation to resolve diverse issues.

  • Self‑Directed: Manages multiple styles, timelines, and priorities independently.

  • Detail Oriented: Ensures accuracy in product data, specifications, and communication.

  • Collaborative: Builds strong relationships across teams and global partners.

  • Resilient: Thrives in fast‑paced environments with shifting demands.

Experience You Bring

  • Degree in a related field (Product Development, Apparel/Textile Design, Technology, Merchandising, Engineering, or equivalent experience).

  • 3–5 years of experience in product development, commercialization, or technical apparel roles.

  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple styles and timelines.

  • Experience creating and maintaining technical specifications, BOMs, and construction documentation.

  • Understanding of garment construction, materials, patternmaking, costing, and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience evaluating prototypes, size sets, and pre‑production samples.

  • Proficiency with PLM systems, 3d, Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Ability to write clear, accurate, and actionable product specifications and evaluations.

  • Ability and flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
