
(Senior) Principal Process Development Engineer (m/f/d) - Wide Bandgap Technology (SiC/GaN)

About the role
In this leadership role, you will drive the development and industrialization of next-generation wide bandgap technologies, influencing both strategy and execution across our global manufacturing network.
What you will do
Lead the development, scaling, and industrialization of SiC MOSFET and GaN HEMT technologies across internal fabs and external foundries
Act as a technical authority in wide bandgap process integration, driving architecture definition and innovation
Own and deliver new manufacturing processes and optimization programs, ensuring best-in-class yield, performance, and reliability
Define and execute technology roadmaps, aligning innovation with long-term business strategy
Drive global cross-functional collaboration across R&D, production, quality, and external partners while representing the organization at senior level
Build industry networks, leverage competitive insights, and mentor engineers to strengthen innovation and foster a high-performance culture
What you bring
PhD (preferred) or Master’s in Microelectronics, Semiconductor Physics, or related field
Extensive experience in semiconductor fabrication and process integration, with strong focus on SiC and/or GaN
Proven track record of bringing advanced processes from R&D into high-volume manufacturing
Deep hands-on expertise in wafer processing and manufacturing technologies
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Fluent in English and German, with willingness to travel internationally
This is your department and colleagues
We are working as team members of product development projects, together in an international and multi-disciplinary team with product experts, process and production engineers as well as quality engineers.
We hand over the results of our development work to the operations units and ensure well described robust processes for industry use.
The process development team belongs to the development department responsible for creating the products and their technology according to customer demand.
