Job Description

The MEXCT HRBP provides support to Amazon Operations team by partnering with senior stakeholders on the country-related business and people agenda, and manages country-wide projects independently. This role is a key partner in driving people strategies across multiple sites in Mexico, with a strong focus on our hourly workforce and operational excellence.

COMPANY CULTURE STEWARD

ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT & PLANNING
- Understands key business goals and operational priorities within MEXCT, and applies that understanding to core HR responsibilities to prioritize work and set goals
- Provides input into org discussions (i.e. Time and attendance issues, Golden rules, terminations, investigations)
- Implements communication plans for org changes across sites

ORGANIZATION HEALTH
- Conducts diagnostics to identify trends and ER or workplace issues specific to Amazon operation; communicates findings to leadership
- Partners with management to drive positive employee relations, including compliance with Mexican labor law (LFT) and proactive monitoring of any regulatory changes
- Proactively monitors and acts to address ER or labor changes relevant to Mexico's logistics operations
- Implements components of strategy and action plans that address workplace environment, employee engagement, and retention — with particular attention to frontline/hourly associate populations
- Conducts investigations of employee relations issues in consultation with management
- Supports rollout of compliance initiatives; independently counsels the business on local employment law, IMSS, and any legislative changes affecting operations in Mexico

WORKFORCE PLANNING & TALENT ACQUISITION
- Partners with Recruiting to coach managers around the recruiting process for both salaried and high-volume hourly roles
- Interprets hiring data and provides recommendations to recruiting and client leaders for sourcing strategies relevant to Mexico's labor market
- Maintains deep understanding of local market conditions and staffing dynamics across Mexico sites
- Participates in interview loops and debriefs
- Approves offers, transfers, and compensation exceptions within the client org
- Engages with managers to ensure launch plans are created and participates in site launch plans as needed
- Monitors vendor and 3rd party worker relationships for co-employment risk, in line with Mexican regulations
- Works closely with staffing and/or recruiting partners to maintain healthy candidate and staffing funnels across sites

TALENT MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT
- Facilitates or assists multiple department or group level talent discussions
- Drives identification and management of forward-looking promotions for managers
- Identifies participants for development programs and manages internal communications related to training
- Partners with leaders on talent development initiatives tailored to the MEXCT team's needs




Key job responsibilities
- Partner with Amazon Mexico operations leaders across multiple sites to manage the country-wide people agenda, with a focus on a large hourly associate population
- Serve as the centralized point of contact supporting time & attendance audits, payroll accuracy, and compliance with labor standards across all MEXCT-supported sites
- Monitor and enforce Golden Rules compliance to prevent consecutive-days-worked violations and other labor law risks under the LFT
- Drive positive employee relations by conducting investigations, counseling managers on ER issues, and proactively addressing workplace environment concerns across sites
- Lead or support the rollout of HR policy changes, compliance initiatives, and process improvements
- Partner with PXT and operations leadership on talent management, promotions, and development of both hourly and salaried populations
- Manage voluntary and involuntary separations end-to-end, including final payment processes and system offboarding
- Maintain and improve HR operational standards, tracking key metrics such as SLA ≤24hrs, pay defects, audit accuracy, and escalation response rates

A day in the life
- Monitor and resolve pre-defects and pay defects within the 24-hour SLA, documenting cases and coordinating with payroll partners as needed
- Execute weekly payroll close, including data upload to Payroll Central every Monday and validation of codifications (VTO paid/unpaid, NWPT, LOA/PLOA/PTO) across MyTime and Vaca & Toro
- Review and reconcile vacation, leave of absence, and PTO records to ensure accurate system alignment between Vaca & Toro and MyTime
- Coordinate the RD Process and support associates and managers on lifecycle transactions (transfers, terminations, LOAs)
- Respond to and manage escalations submitted by PXT partners and site leadership, ensuring timely resolution and communication

The MEXCT HRBP provides support to Amazon Operations team by partnering with senior stakeholders on the country-related business and people agenda, and manages country-wide projects independently. This

- 1+ years of HR generalist, management, or business partner role experience
- Experience handling confidential information
- Experience in one or more of the following industries: shipping/logistics distribution centers, manufacturing environments, hospitality, healthcare, retail, and customer-facing / customer-service environments
- Experience supporting large hourly workforces
- Experience utilizing a time and attendance system
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English

- Experience in human resources at companies supporting 250-500 or more associates
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Payroll Systems or HRIS
- Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field
